Samantha Cavanaugh works in her family's restaurant and is the sweetheart of Jasper Arnold. One day, Kelley Morse, a spoiled rich kid goes to her restaurant, and challenges and offends Jasper. The dispute leads to a car race which ends tragically with the destruction of both a gas station and the Cavanaugh's restaurant. They are arrested and the judge sentences them both to rebuild the place. Kelly moves temporarily to the location and Samantha falls in love with him, but Jasper is none too pleased with the turn of events.
