synopsis:
Sean Connery leads a brilliant cast in this romantic film about love and family.

Gillian Anderson and Jon Stewart meet when, while reaching for a book in Stewart's shop, Anderson topples with the bookshelf (which lands on top of her). In compensation for the accident (and not as a "pre-emptive strike against litigation"), Stewart takes anderson out to dinner.

Angelina Jolie, after breaking up with her current live in boyfriend (rather loudly in a crowded club), finds herself falling for Ryan Phillipe. However, much to her disbelief, Phillipe "doesn't date."

Anthony Edwards and Madeline Stowe are cheating on their respective spouses.

All of these storylines come together to form a picture of love from many different perspectives.
